Finding the job of your dreams isn't easy. In fact, these days, it's really hard. Still, you don't have to settle for being miserable. If you want to find new ways to make your work life happier, the first step is to think about what you are passionate about.

Think about what you wanted to be when you were a kid and what types of activities you enjoyed the most in high school and college. This is a good first start.

Once you have an idea of what your dream job is, you don't have to jump in all at once. You can use these 5 tips to bring some excitement back to your job and get started on the path to doing what you love.

Bring your passion into your job - Look for ways that you can apply the skills you love to your current job. It might take a lot of soul searching and changing the way that you do things, but if you look hard, you'll find ways to incorporate your passion with your work. For example, if you always wanted to be a writer, look for opportunities to write corporate newsletters or create new training manuals for your position.

Get a hobby - Even if you don't want to make a change to your career, just getting involved with a hobby can be enough to inspire you. For example, if you used to want to be an actor, get involved with your local community theatre. There is always a need for more people, whether you want to have a leading role or just have time to run the lights, it can help you be more enthusiastic about life.

Take a class - Take a look at your local community college and see if they have a course or seminar that relates to your dream.Getting information and getting involved can help you learn more and find new ways to bring pieces of your passion into your work life. As an added bonus, you will have the chance to meet others and build a network of people who are already working in your dream field.

Do it for your resume - Having a hobby or a passion makes you more enthusiastic and excited about all aspects of your life. Even if you can't turn your passion into a career, you can mention your hobby, classes or volunteer work on your resume. Many hiring managers would see this as impressive and think of you as a well-rounded person who is energetic and involved.

Especially if you are out of work, you can't afford to let yourself get depressed and your skill get rusty. Get out and find a way to live your dream. You'll find that it will give you more inspiration, enthusiasm and excitement for your job search. No to mention it will make you feel happier and more fulfilled.
