Establish Meaningful Relationships with Others

Posted by in Career Advice

Relationships can be great and one of the most difficult challenges one will ever face at the same time. Between maintaining family contacts, friends from different times and places you may have experienced, co-workers, strangers, and developing new contacts in the world clearly there are many choices to be made in how to divide the free time we have. With all the potential people we have known, are presently involved with, and all the people we would like to know it is difficult to make choices that maintain meaningful connections with all we would like to. For this reason maintaining quality relationships requires making decisions, emphasizing priorities, and living well in the present moment. It is a joy to be able to choose what one wants, but extremely hard to make choices to leave loved ones behind. Whether an introvert that has made few significant connections with others or the most popular celebrity we must all decide which one place we would like to be at any given time. We must decide what we are really trying to achieve in the one place we choose to spend our time in. We must choose how to act and who to interact with while working on the achievements we value. With the decisions we make we are lucky if we can get what we want in the moment. How can we involve others from our past, present, and those we meet in the future in our activities? It requires creativity, patience, and prioritizing what really matters. When one uses their creativity one can reach numerous people in different times and places at their leisure. The advancement of technology allows for distance to be less of a barrier than ever to extended networks. Staying connected through phone conversations, websites, films, or group involvement are all realistic methods for remaining close to people from different eras of life who live in a variety of places. It is a matter of establishing priorities to stay in touch with the people you care about and are the most interested in. No matter what one should try to live well in their present moment. The past is gone and can’t be changed, the future may never come. Obviously we should cherish our positive memories from the past and embrace the valuable lessons we have learned from bygone eras. Some preparation for future events is wise and can lead to a happier life consistently. The life we live in the current moment is always the most valuable. Keeping those we love and ourselves connected to current events provides meaningful paths to all that can be precious about life. Stay connected to the people that really matter and make your own personal decisions on which people you enjoy. You will not regret showing love for and spending as much time as possible with the people who inspire you to believe that life is worth living.
