Assistant Controller

Kforce has a client that is seeking an Assistant Controller in Johnston, RI.Responsibilities:

• Oversee, manage and coordinate accounting and financial reporting functions

• Manage accounting staff

• Assist in the development, documentation and testing of internal controls

• Prepare statutory reporting requirements

• Manage the month-end close process

• Review financial statements

• Review journal entries and account reconciliations

• Research and propose solutions to accounting issues

• Prepare financial statements and variance analysis

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

• 5 years of accounting experience, including supervisory experience

• Insurance industry experience is a plus

• Experience with property and casualty insurance accounting

• Knowledge of statutory accounting
