    Novant Health is seeking a Development Operations (DevOps) Engineer for our Digital Products and Services Team to help our healthcare team by establishing an authentic personalized relationship with the patient and their support system.     You will help create high-quality and innovative applications for the healthcare industry. All the while seeking to improve cross-team collaboration and increase developer productivity by automating infrastructure, deployment workflows and continuously measuring application performance. We are looking for the ability to manage application and infrastructure projects and processes which will require keen attention to detail, advanced problem-solving abilities, and a solid base of technical knowledge as well as strong communication skills.

    • Creation and maintenance of Dockerfiles and Helm charts
    • Creation of CI/CD pipelines
    • Development of automated testing (Ex: SonarQube, Selenium, Appium, etc.)
    • Extensive experience with Agile SDLC processes, including Git management, sprint and ticket management, and sprint retrospectives (ex: Jira, GitHub, Azure Boards / Repos)
    • Maintenance and prioritization of work item backlog
    • Migration of teams into a mature development process
    • Iterative development for continuous improvement
    • Design process and select tools for configuration management
    • Setup and maintain CI/CD infrastructure
    • Setup and maintain the production Kubernetes cluster
    • Maintain monitoring and alerting capabilities to increase application reliability
    • Knowledge of secret management strategies
    • Knowledge of traffic and data encryption / certificate management
    • Knowledge of secure programming practices and scanning techniques (SAST, DAST, etc)
    • Coordinate and collaborate with security engineers on DevSecOps best practices
    • Process oriented with passion for documentation
    • Applications: Familiarity with 12 factor application patterns
    • Cloud Resources: Familiarity with Azure (preferred), AWS, or GCP
    • Containers: Comfortable creating Dockerfiles, docker-compose files, and Helm charts
    • Kubernetes: experience deploying and debugging applications running on Kubernetes
    • CI/CD: Familiarity with Jenkins, Azure pipelines, or GitHub Actions, etc.
    • Strong knowledge of Git, branching, merging, etc.
    • Databases: Familiarity with MySQL, MariaDB, or SQLServer
    • Languages: Familiarity with Bash, Java, Node, Angular, YAML
    • Operating Systems: Experience with the Linux command line and the creation of Bash scripts
    • Automation tools - Terraform / Ansible / Ansible Tower
    • Excellent verbal communication skills
    • Skilled at working in an agile product team model
    • Seeing through a project from conception to finished product
    • Staying abreast of developments in build tools and programming languages
    • Self-manage personal priorities, deadlines and deliverables
    • Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with staff, management team, vendors, and end users
    • May teach and train other team members in relevant development concepts
    • Knowledge of continuous Integration and continuous deployment tools
    • Advanced problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail

    Bachelor's Degree in IT or related field preferred or the equivalent amount of related experience required.

    At least 7 years of experience developing software

    At least 3 years of experience in developing and execute automated test scenarios, scripts for unit, integration, regression, and functional testing

    At least 3 years of experience in Agile practices & TDD
