Entry Level Civil Engineer

Gaddy Surveying & Design, Inc is seeking an experienced Entry Level Civil Engineer to join our team in the Lawrenceville office. Our firm is primarily focused on residential projects throughout the greater Metro Atlanta area. This position will be responsible for the development of drawings of including site layout, grading and drainage, hydrological studies, utilities, and plan and profiles. Emphasis is placed on prior work experience in hydrological studies, plan production and retaining wall design in the Metro Atlanta area.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Preparation of civil design plans (i.e. – grading, storm water management system, drainage systems, utility design, earthwork volume calculations, etc.) and related technical work on a project-by-project basis.
• Preparation of supporting documentation, reports and calculations for residential and limited commercial projects.
• Retaining wall design preferred.
• Ability to research and stay current with codes and ordinances for city, county, and state municipalities in the Metro Atlanta area.
• Ability to work with city, county and state officials on a project-by-project basis.
• Ability to work various clients and projects.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Associates or Bachelor of Sciene Degree in Civil Engineering - E.I.T. or P.E. required.
• Working knowledge with two years of experience in engineering related computer software including AutoCAD, Hydra flow Civil 3D or Haestad Methods Stand Alon Software is required.
• Experience with retaining wall design software is preferred.
• Experience in land/site development required including storm water management systems, site grading, utility design required.
• A minimum of one (1) year work experience in residential design with a civil engineering firm preferred.
• Candidate should possess excellent organizational and communication skills and will be a primary point of contact with company's client base during plan production. Individual should possess the ability to succeed in a team-oriented, fast-paced work environment.
