Junior SQL Database Administrator

Nexxt, Inc., a leading technology company in the talent solutions field with over 100 million job seekers across the US, is actively seeking a Junior SQL Database Administrator. We are expanding our dynamic team with responsible, motivated people who value excellence in their work. We are based out of Wayne, PA and are considering candidates with the ability to work in the office.  We are currently working in a hybrid model, primarily remotely.

The Junior SQL Database Administrator is responsible for assisting in the support of the SQL Server environment at Nexxt.  An individual in this position will collaborate with a team of Infrastructure Engineers and Database Developers daily, improving database systems and processes. A few core areas an individual in this role will support include Instance and Database configuration, backup and recovery, query performance and process automation.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the day-to-day maintenance of the SQL environment
• Provide production support
• Perform root-cause analysis to document production issues and their resolutions
• Research and implement industry-proven techniques to accomplish goals
• Proactively identify areas of opportunity in the SQL environment and develop solutions to address them
• Develop and maintain documentation and standards
• Participate in the on-call / after-hours support schedule

Exceptional Candidates will also possess:

• Ability to read, write, and comprehend complex T-SQL queries and Stored Procedures
• Experience working with large databases (100+ million records)
• Experience working with Windows Clusters and SQL Server Always On Availability Groups
• Experience working with and managing a multi-instance environment with 24/7 up-time
• Experience with Transactional Replication

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related area
• 1-2 years of first-hand experience working with SQL Server in a Production environment
