SAN Storage Engineer w/ Splunk (Secret clearance)

Cloud Lake Technology, an Akima company, is looking to hire a Storage SME to join our team supporting one of our current government customers! In this role, you will be responsible for managing the requirements and tasks that surround planning & transitioning our client's storage infrastructure to private clouds. In this role, you will provide all storage-related support for the customer's projects using SAN/NAS/SDD type devices. The project will migrate data to cloud environments. In addition, you will be required to serve as a backup/restore subject matter/Tier 3 expert for issues affecting the customers' new private and public clouds. This includes and is not limited to: designing, configuring, installing, mapping LUN assignments, backups and restores, traffic and disk management, scheduling applications, reporting, etc.
Work with the PM and Architect to transition functionality from physical on-site equipment to the organizations' public and private clouds.
Identify, augment, and/or create, submit, test, work mitigations with DevOps team, and manage all requirements identified during discovery, installation and deployment, C&A, ATT, or ATO activities.
Assist in any security support for the customer's infrastructure and applications
Ensures the customers' private cloud environments maintain compliance to all regulations. Create and maintain documentation where customer lacks appropriate documentation in support of compliance, processes or procedures.
Evaluates products, patches and upgrades for appropriateness level of compliance and utilizes the CM processes for any required changes. Coordinates with change management in collaboration with organizational cloud services governance
Executes tasks defined in the cloud computing project plans, schedules, design, development, integration, securing, documentation and deployment of using best practices in cloud computing methodologies and standards
Assist in the discovery process by capturing legacy/physical requirements that must be transitioned to the cloud environments.
Establish and comply with organizational standards and frameworks in creating and maintaining private and public cloud environments
Collect and provide data/metrics that support any required in all security SLA, MOU and MOAs
Serves as cloud service storage administrator and manages all cloud storage services with commitment to implementing best practices in optimization, quality assurance cloud architecture, design, engineering, testing and implementation
Monitors and manages cloud operations and infrastructure services according to requirements specified in agreements with customer and stakeholders in relation to security relative events
Bachelor's degree in technical discipline or equivalent
Active DoD Secret Clearance is required
Minimum ten (10) years of experience managing storage area networks, specializing in EMC and NetApp systems. Certifications highly desired
Experience with configuration and management of fiber channel equipment & protocols like: SCCI, LUNS & WW#, CIF, SAN, NAS, RAID, Large packet TCP/IP
Experience with (ATTO, Brocade, Cisco, McDATA, QLogic, Emmulex, etc) devices
Experience with cloud environments
Experience with ITIL
Minimum of five (5) years IT Development Operations experience
Demonstrated experience configuring storage for various operating systems and applications
Ability to work flexible hours and be on-call
Ability to do limited travel (0 - 4 times a year)
Experience working with Microsoft and VMware Virtualization Experience - design, implement, and manage.
Experience maintaining integration between Splunk and external tools, routine operations, upgrades , solution development and integration of variety of data sources, development of Splunk dashboards for monitoring performance
Experience configuring, automating, maintaining and monitoring Linux Server environments
Experience with Python
Microsoft or VMware certifications are a plus
Virtual platform network skills and demonstrated experience in a complex network is a plus
Windows ##, RedHat and Ubuntu O/S experience a plus
Experience with various operating system versions on the VMware platform
Securing .Net application experience a plus
Prior DoD, DoJ, or Intel environment experience
Experience working in the Agile methodology
Experience working Application Development and Operations teams
Experience with software development tools
