May lead the solution design and implementation aspects of engagement(s) ensuring high quality, integrated software solutions within constraints of time and budget. May act as the team lead on projects, providing coaching, guidance and feedback to develop skills of team members. Effectively consults with management of customer organizations. Participates in business development activities. Develops and leads detailed solutions for moderately complex projects.
6-8 years of experience relevant to this position including 3-4 years consulting experience preferred. Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience preferred. Product or technical expertise relevant to practice focus. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to build rapport with team members and clients. Ability to travel as needed.
Responsibilities
The Senior Principal Consultant - OIPA works on medium to large customer-facing project teams to implement the Oracle Insurance Policy Administration application for customers primarily across Insurance and Financial industries. In this role you will translate business requirements into functional and technical design and assist with high level architecture design, perform complex configuration of the application based upon the design, configure integration points, troubleshoot any issues, provide configuration code reviews, assist with performance tuning, and provide mentoring to others. The senior functional engineer can serve as an individual contributor but most often serves as a project team lead. Must be able to work independently as this is a full-time remote position for North America.
Primary Responsibilities:
Collaborate with project team to design, configure and deliver high quality solutions that meet customer requirements
Work as a team lead, directing other consultants on design and configuration tasks
Work with technical architects to create and understand high level design documents
Create functional and technical design documents adhering to the standards set in the high-level design
Perform complex configuration of OIPA to meet design, including any security, calculations, reporting, complex formulas and extensions
Analyze and resolve any issues with data integrity, application processes, and system performance
Provide impact analysis of new design against existing functionality, and make recommendations accordingly
Mentor others on advanced OIPA configuration techniques
Maintain a focus on customer success, interacting with customers at all job levels including the executive level
Must Haves:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or other related focus and/or equivalent job experience
5+ years' experience configuring Oracle Insurance Policy Administration (OIPA) application including:
Building complex screens including actions & events,
Building complex transactions including spawns, valuations & edits, allocation, fund manipulation, attached rules, suspense, group billing and processing, accounting, funds, benefit split
Complex math, loops, collections & arrays
Interpreting complex stack trace errors
Palette and application security
Writing extensions
Configuration review for adherence to standards and best practices
OIPA technical experience in AsFile, data intake, rate load, utility usage, integrations
SQL experience including 2+ joins, copybooks
Experience with XML, relational database, and MS Office
Programming experience
Understanding of full project lifecycle, system design and development processes
Strong customer facing skills including written and oral communication, presentations, and ability to provide product demonstrations tailored to the level of the audience
Critical thinking, problem solving, organizational, and mentoring skills
Self-starter willing to take initiative to learn new things, ask questions, work independently and participate in self-directed learning
Mastery of the English language, both written and spoken
Ability to travel domestically and/or internationally up to 25%
Nice to Haves:
Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle and associated methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, etc)
Strong insurance industry domain knowledge and insurance policy lifecycle knowledge
OIPA experience in database architecture and release management
Agile/Scrum methodology experience or certification
Bi-lingual, including both written and spoken mastery of Spanish or French
Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated location(s)
California Pay Range: from $95,900 to $192,000 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Colorado Pay Range: from $90,600 to $172,800 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
New York City Pay Range: from $90,600 to $182,400 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Washington Pay Range: from $101,300 to $182,400 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience and market conditions, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
