    Facebook is exploring the potential of virtual and augmented reality to bring people together in new ways. We are designing technologies that help people to create, share meaningful moments, and build communities using the unique qualities of these immersive new mediums. We aim to develop experiences that put people first, defining a future where AR and VR enable us to connect with the people and content we care about like never before.Facebook Horizon is a virtual reality, online video game with an integrated game creation system. Come build the metaverse with ~~~ an engineer working on the Horizon Core Loop team at Facebook, you'll be driving efforts to create interactive experiences that provide creativity and social play experiences for people connecting through Facebook VR products. These experiences will explore and define the future of online social interaction. The ideal candidate is an experienced software engineer with gaming metasystem, VR, and other 3D interactive industry background, with an ability to rapidly prototype and turn concepts into reality through iterative product development.

    Required Skills:

    1. Architect efficient and reusable systems that drive complex VR applications

    2. Prototyping new interactions and features with an eye toward intuitive usability and feel

    3. Drive design and implementation for proposed playful and creative projects for experiences in VR

    4. Lead collaboration with multi-functional teams to achieve compelling experiences

    5. Engage with FB teams to understand and utilize FB graph and features that will power social UX

    Minimum Qualifications:

    1. Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field

    2. 2+ years experience as an engineer shipping user-facing features on games or other 3D interactive products

    3. Demonstrated experience interfacing with other internal and external teams to incorporate their innovations and vice versa

    4. Product development experience with a gaming metasystem such as progression or inventory

    5. Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment

    6. Interpersonal experience: cross-group and cross-culture collaboration

    Preferred Qualifications:

    1. Experience with virtual reality (Rift, VIVE, Gear VR, etc.)

    2. Experience with C++ and/or C# programming

    3. Experience with a combination of Windows, Android, and game console programming

    4. Experience with Unity 3D

    5. Experience with real time networked features (i.e., synchronous multiplayer games)

    6. Experience in UX design or game design

    7. Strong understanding of 3D math, linear algebra, and techniques

    8. Thrives in dynamic, fast-paced environments

    9. Demonstrated software engineer experience via an internship, work experience, coding competitions, or widely used contributions in open source repositories (e.g. GitHub)
