    Receivingall incoming freight, coordinating outgoing shipments by calling satelliteunits and completing orders via phone. Purchasing, receiving, inventory,storing, and associated record keeping of food service and housekeepingproducts and supplies as well as performing general cleaning and floormaintenance duties. This position also performs a variety of food preparation,stocking and serving duties in a school kitchen, storeroom, dining or servingarea.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Maintainsstorerooms, shelves, loading docks, and walk in coolers by properly laying outand rotating products.

    • Loadsand unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, vehicles, or shelves.

    • Providesa variety of products to other personnel as they are needed. Continually keepsaccurate inventories/records of materials on hand.

    • Tracksweekly inventories from various Villages, inputs data and adheres to timelines.

    • Workswith other personnel to make sure all products and supplies will be availableand ready as needed.

    • Readswork order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials to be moved.

    • Ordersmaterials, products and supplies as they drop below established levels or ascalled for by others.

    • Usingfield-developed methods keeps accurate records of invoices on purchases as wellas initiates and monitors claims to shippers or vendors.

    • Inspectsdeliveries for conformity to standards, quantity/quality ordered.

    • Counts,weighs, and records number of units of materials moved or handled.

    • Delivers,unloads, loads, stocks, cleans, rotates, or picks up materials or product fromvarious locations.

    • Ona regular basis, maintains, cleans, sweeps, mops, etc. coolers, floors,storerooms, loading docks, shelves, etc.

    • Mayhandle special food service related projects. May prepare and clean products tobe stored.

    • Mayassist in maintaining the cleanliness of other associated areas.

    • Cleanswork area, machines, and equipment and keeps assigned areas neat, safe, andorderly.

    • Stack,assemble, or band materials together.

    • Usesvarious types of hand trucks to facilitate movement of materials or products.

    • Mayoperate industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or movingmaterials and products.

    • Mayassist others such as food service personnel with their general day-to-dayactivities.

    • Willbe responsible for shipping supplies/food out to the villages.

    • Washesobjects by hand or with cleaning equipment.

    • Mayclean dishes, utensils, pots, pans etc. and places in assigned storage areas inan organized and orderly manner.

    • Maintainsa variety of products at certain levels in preparation, serving, or storageareas including service machines.

    • Stocksstorage areas with various products.

    • Cleans,sweeps, wipes down, etc. all general dining, kitchen, or storage areas (in somecases), spike rooms, and equipment as well as all floors.

    • Removesgarbage from assigned areas, sets up or breaks down tables, snack bars, displaycases, serving lines, etc.

    • Assistswith various periodically scheduled large cleaning projects.

    • Assistscooks and others as needed and coordinates one's own activities with other's.

    • Mayoccasionally prepare food or cook vegetables, entrees, coffee, sauces, meats,etc.

    • Other duties that are pertinent to thedepartment or unit's success also may be assigned.


    Minimum Requirements

    • Ahigh school diploma or GED equivalent.

    • Ableto efficiently operate a computer terminal and to properly complete asignificant amount of inventory and purchasing paperwork duties.

    • Avalid Alaskan driver's license and a 3 year driving record acceptable to thecompany's insurance carrier.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • At least one year of experience which evidences a knowledge of purchasing, material handling, inventory, stocking, the shipping and receiving of perishable items, or of cleaning processes and equipment.
