ICU Nurse Creates Informative Site for Nurses and Community Education

Posted by in Healthcare

An Arizona-based cardiovascular nurse has launched a new website and blog that seeks to unite healthcare professionals and provide valuable information to educate the community.

Created by Amy Sellers, the site known as NursingInfluence.com combines community education, and serves as a communication conduit among healthcare professionals with the goal of keeping readers current on new trends in healthcare,

Sellers, the sole author and contributor to NursingInfluence.com, is passionate about her new venture. She earned her nursing degree from Illinois Wesleyan University (in Bloomington, IL). She has spent four years in the cardiovascular ICU in Mesa, Arizona as a staff nurse, relief charge nurse, and preceptor (a nurse who cares for patients, supervises other nurses on the unit, and teaches new nurses).

Eager to share her knowledge and experience, Sellers currently holds certifications in basic life support (BLS), advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) as an instructor, open heart anesthesia recovery, the Datascope intra-aortic balloon pump, continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD), the Aquadex aquaphoresis validation, sustained low-efficiency dialysis (SLED), lumbar drain care and monitoring.

Visitors to NursingInfluence.com can tap into her breadth of experience, gaining insights into the health care industry with topics that cover everything from new medical procedures to diabetes updates and personal insights—like her "first night on call."
