Job considerations for Introverts?

Not all jobs are made equal and not all jobs are for everyone. Each of us has a personality that we bring into the job and into the new company. Finding a job that fits your personality can be daunting.

So, what do the experts say would be a good job for an Introvert? Introverts are described are person s concerned primarily with his or her own thoughts and feelings; shy; directs one’s mind and interests towards things within self. Introverts are not actually shy – although that’s the way they usually come across. Introverts have a great interest in problem-solving without distractions and also are known to be very creative.

Having said that – what do you think would be the best financial job for you? Well, introverts are perfect for financial jobs such as an accountant, a credit analyst, a financial analyst, an auditor or even a personal financial advisor. The reason for these two job categories is because most of these jobs can be done singularly – in quiet with minimal distractions. Some of the characteristics associated with an Introvert:

• Not usually good on teams as they sort of sit back and observe and don’t really contribute much. Not that they won’t contribute but they usually get lost in a roomful of extroverts.
• Need quiet for their work
• Like to work alone
• Typically are better off concentrating on one task at a time such as doing accounts receivable or auditing books
• Prefer not to be involved in group meetings
• Often seem standoffish but that’s only because an Introvert lives in his/her own world which is what allows them to be extremely successful
• Blossom in work that requires extensive thinking or research

So, if you are unhappy in your job, then maybe you just don’t have the right personality for it. Always know that the more your personality meshes with your position, the happier you will be as well as being more successful.
