Improving your personal efficiency can have an immensely positive impact on your life. Saving time and boosting productivity allows you to take on more challenges and complete them faster so you can enjoy life more. Here are three sites for lifehacks and time savers that will help you function at your personal best:

  1. Lifehacker.com – Launched on January 31, 2005, Lifehacker.com has become the go-to site for lifehacks and productivity tips. This popular blog features general life tips from a variety of contributors, advice on getting things done, and software recommendations, all focused on helping readers to empty their inboxes quicker. The site was started by Gina Trapani but has since been acquired by Gawker Media. Two international sister sites, Lifehacker Australia and Lifehacker Japan, provide region-specific content to those areas.

  1. ZenHabits.com – Sometimes people get so busy working in their administrative jobs that they forget to live the lives they're striving to improve. In addition to providing tips on achieving goals and developing good habits, Zen Habits teaches people how to simplify and slow down so they can appreciate and enjoy their lives. The blog was started by Leo Babauta in 2007 and has become a highly trafficked site, with over 240,000 subscribers. Time Magazine named it one of the top twenty-five blogs two years in a row (2009 and 2010). Babauta also has a book called Zen to Done: The Ultimate Simple Productivity System, which is composed of the site's most popular productivity posts.

  1. PickTheBrain.com - Billing itself as a self-improvement website, PickTheBrain posts lifehacks on a wide range of subjects, including personal productivity, self-education, psychology, motivation, and philosophy. Started in November 2006, the site is currently run by Editor-in-Chief Erin Falconer. The site also features a community blog where PickTheBrain readers can submit tips and lifehacks.

While these are arguably the top three sites for lifehacks, you can find many more productivity websites online. Spend a little time to sifting an Internet directory such as BlogCatalog or Technorati to find the ones that appeal to you. Many of these sites have email lists you can sign up for that will deliver the newest posts directly to your inbox. Alternatively, you can use an RSS aggregator like BlogLines to organize your favorites.

Finding productivity and lifehacking sites is not enough. To truly benefit from these resources, you must take action and implement the lifehacks and time savers you find. Even if you only follow one or two tips, you can end up improving your personal efficiency a great deal, leaving you with more time and energy to spend on the things that are important to you.
