Want to look younger? Get a vampire facelift.

Everyone wants to look younger -- the problem is not just limited to the baby boomers. It seems that we spend our years up until our early twenties trying to look older, more mature - like adults. But the rest of our lives we just want to look young again. This generation has many more tools available to it than the previous generation; Botox, collagen treatments, skin peels, and now? ...Blood?

A new fad has emerged in fashion magazines that has many people scratching their heads. It's been dubbed the "vampire facelift" -- a twenty minute procedure that uses components of the patient's own blood to plump up aging skin.

The process, which was approved in Canada just last year, has generated a lot of buzz as the newest and coolest in esthetic medicine.

The patient's blood is spun in a centrifuge to separate the plasma, red and white blood cells and a layer of platelets from each other. Estheticians then take the the yellowish platelet layer and re-inject it into facial lines to promote healing, circulation and collagen production.

"People want to look rested, not Hollywood," says Khulbe, a Canadian esthetician operating out of Ottawa, Ontario. "It's like a tire. You're inflating the tire back to normal. You're not overinflating it."
