We operate a global landscape of SAP systems covering many modules in Finance, Manufacturing, Oil & Gas, Retail, Procurement, Logistics, etc. We are looking for a Director of Technical Architecture to guide the future of SAP at Walmart as we modernize our stack and transform our business.

    About Team: EBS Finance Tech / ERP Platforms

    ERP Platforms designs, implements, and supports SAP systems across Walmart globally. Delivering world-class ERP platforms that enhance Walmart's competitive advantage with Every Day Low Cost (EDLC) is what we do every day. We are part of the Finance Technology org and play a key role in Walmart's S4/HANA transformation, but also serve other SAP teams across Walmart US Omni and International markets.

    What you'll do:

    • Create a vision and strategy for technical architecture across ERP Platforms that integrates inputs from product SMEs with your own knowledge and experience. Collaborate with SAP application teams and other stakeholders to align their long-term roadmaps with ours.

    • Communicate and drive the technical architecture vision and strategy across the ERP Platforms functions including Basis, Security, HANA, and ALM. Strong communication skills and the ability to build consensus with other senior engineers will be critical for success.

    • Define, document, and implement scalable technical architecture patterns and decisions.

    • Ensure availability, scalability, and performance of the systems to meet SLAs while maintaining EDLC.

    • Demonstrate an entrepreneurial mindset that puts the customer first and encourage that mindset in the team. Look and think outside the box for solutions and techniques to bring modern methods to ERP.

    • You will align the ERP Platforms technical architecture with our stakeholders in a matrixed organization comprised of separate SAP application teams, infrastructure, infosec, and with our leaders.

    • Managing competing priorities to reach a reasonable solution will be key in this role.

    What you'll bring:

    • Strong system architecture, problem solving, and facts-based decision-making skills.

    • Experience leading S4 projects and managing multiple Heterogeneous Migrations of SAP Systems.

    • Experience leading the strategic planning and execution of SAP system upgrades, migrations, and global rollouts of SAP applications for large, mission-critical, cross-functional initatives.

    • Experience implementing, upgrading, and maintaining across various modules of SAP, encompassing SAP S4, SAP Portal, SAP PI, SAP SLT, SAP ECC, SAP Solman, SAP BI/BOBJ, SAP Gateway, SAP MDGF, SAP Retail, SAP LaMa, SAP ADS, SAP CVA, SAP CAR, SAP SLD, SAP GTS, SAP DIZ, SAP GRC, and SAP Cloud Connector

    • Exhibit strong problem-solving abilities to effectively guide and troubleshoot critical Production issues.

    • Experience in Partnering with vendors and other internal architects in designing solutions to meet the company's needs while remaining compliant with all standards and guidelines.

    • Conduct thorough reviews of 3rd-party products to assess compatibility and suitability for integration with internal systems.

    • Showcase leadership by mentoring and guiding cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives.

    • Manage SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) effectively to support organizational objectives.

    • Knowledge of programming in multiple languages.

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills with experience presenting to the executive level, presenting externally, and deliver to the engineering level.

    • Expertise in microservices design patterns and integration techniques within the SAP ecosystem.

    • Expertise designing disaster recovery implementations for both cloud and corporate data center environments, ensuring business continuity meets all RTO/RPO objectives.

    Preferred Qualifications :

    • Degree in Engineering or STEM discipline.

    • 15+ years of hands-on experience in the IT sector with progressively increasing responsibility, including of deep knowledge of SAP, but also a variety of tech stacks and diverse roles.

    • Multiple SAP Technical Certifications preferred including System Administration (any DB), SAP HANA, OS/DB Migration for SAP Systems, SAP NetWeaver PI, SAP BW, E2E Solution Operations Expert, Configuration and Operations for SAP Solution Manager

    • Architecture Certification, e.g. Open Group TOGAF 9 or 10

    • Information Security Certification, e.g. CISSP

    • Project Management Certification, e.g. PMP

    • Cloud Certification, e.g. Google Cloud Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert

    • Infrastructure Certification, e.g. Cisco Certified Network Associate, Oracle 10G Certified Associate, Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist, Microsoft Certified Professional
