Accounting Clerk

Description Are you looking for employment as an Accounting Clerk at an organization that is admired within the industry? Robert Half is looking for a candidate to support a department as an Accounting Clerk. The Accounting Clerk duties will include matching invoices to purchase orders/ vouchers, data entry, and assisting with Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R). This is a long-term contract / temporary employment opportunity based in the Colchester, Vermont area.

Your responsibilities in this role

• Put together statements and reports that require utilization of an assortment of sources

• Assist Accounts Payable: A/P invoice matching & filing, vendor invoices and disbursement filing

• Work with Accounts Receivable: process daily invoices/credit, apply cash receipt, and help with collection of past due balance

• Order documents that require knowledge in determining proper classification of accounting codes and expenditure codes

• Resolve discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required

• Overall accounting: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects

• Post financial figures to journals and ledgers Requirements - Ability to multitask and communicate well with individuals of all backgrounds

• Prior experience in Spreadsheet and ERP system

• Accounts Payable (AP) experience

• Foundational knowledge in Invoice

• Invoice experience

• Experience with Purchase Orders

• Accounts Receivable (AR) experience desired

• 1+ years of relevant experience

• Data entry, document management, file creation and previous records experience required

• AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred
