Accounts Payable Specialist

Can you match, batch and code invoices, resolve A/P issues, process expense reports, update and reconcile sub-ledger to G/L, and process checks? A dynamic organization with a growing team is looking for an Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk. The job site for the permanent Accounts Payable Specialist is in Newport, Rhode Island.

Your responsibilities in this role

• Produce full-cycle A/P

• Execute daily processes and controls accurately and in a timely manner; ensuring compliance with company policies

• Sort, register, scan, and store invoices, checks, and other documents

• Help with internal and external audits as required

• Manage the process of verifying, logging, and mailing checks, including expediting special handling

• Support the AP/Finance Department by completing administrative tasks

• Open, organize, and distribute department mail daily

• Manage customer service tasks for internal business partners

• Execute additional tasks as needed

Requirements

• AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred but not required

• Prior experience in an A/P role preferred

• Highly organized and self-motivated

• Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases

• Accounts Payable (AP) experience

• Microsoft Excel experience

• Maintain Vendor Files experience highly desired

• Experience using larger ERP systems

• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, especially when interacting with those in the technical and financial background.
