    Summary

    This position has a dual role with talent acquisition and the diversity, equity and inclusion teams. This role provides administrative support to Southern Company's Senior Director of TA and the DE&I team's efforts to diversify our workforce and create a welcoming and inclusive workplace to better meet the needs of our employees and the customers and communities we serve.

    This position requires outstanding organizational skills, along with the ability to multitask, work through competing priorities with minimal supervision and direction.

    Administrative responsibilities:

    • Responding to and managing telephone calls and mail/email requests

    • Preparing and organizing meeting materials

    • Scheduling and coordinating meetings and conference calls.

    • Making travel arrangements

    • Handling expense reports

    • Maintaining multiple calendars

    • Timekeeping

    • Purchasing supplies

    • Routinely maintaining confidential information

    • Handling other miscellaneous functions as needed

    DEI Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Coordinate logistics for virtual and in-person meetings, events, speakers and conferences.

    • Work with communications to publicize diversity-related events, educational opportunities, workshops, etc.

    • Create DEI related content for usage in communications such as newsletters and quarterly overview documents.

    • Maintain the DEI event calendar and assist with project management of DEI related programming.

    • Provide administrative support for DEI event and external partner activations.

    • Manage payments and contracts for events and partnerships.

    • Assist with the design, delivery, and communication of diversity, equity, and inclusion programming (i.e. coordinating meetings, drafting communications, tracking metrics, etc.)

    • Support external benchmarking efforts (research, maintain databases etc.)

    • Run and share data reports with key stakeholders.

    • Organize and maintain team information sites.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Commitment to DE&I and to learn about communities, identities, and cultures other than your own.

    • Proficient in Word, Teams, Excel, SharePoint, and other MS Office tools

    • Be reliable, punctual, and organized with the ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.

    • Ability to proactively problem-solve, make decisions, anticipate next steps, implement solutions and monitor progress for multiple projects.

    • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills required along with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    Education and Experience:

    • 5 years' experience in a secretarial/administrative position is preferred.

    • Work history supporting a large department is highly desired.

    • Must be a self-starter and forward thinking.

    • Strong writing skills are required.

    • High School Diploma required. College degree is preferred.
