  • GENERAL PURPOSE

    Conducts detailed analyses of defined program specifications, develops new programs or modifies existing programs allowing for changes in systems or configurations.

    SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES :

    1. Under general direction and with latitude for independent judgment and initiative:

    2. Evaluates, installs, tests and maintains programming languages or application packages relative to software and equipment.

    3. Consults with user departments to assess data preparation and management needs, program design and testing; package selection and use of systems, software and equipment.

    4. Provides consultation support on installed system support and related programs; periodically instructs large user groups on such systems.

    5. Designs and verifies program logic by preparing test data and trial runs. Codes program instructions and revises and/or refines programs. Documents procedures used.

    6. Evaluates and modifies existing programs relative to changes in system requirements or equipment configurations. Assists in determining the causes of computer or program malfunctions.

    7. May coordinate the work of other Programmers as assigned.

    8. Keeps abreast of trends as they relate to the computer field by self study, attending job related seminars, courses or conferences which enhance personal development and strengthen the user service function.

    9. Performs other related duties, including presentation of seminars, courses, and instruction on computer services as required.

    REQUIREMENTS :

    Bachelor's degree in related discipline such as Computer Science, Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Science or Engineering, and 2-3 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Pay Range

    Pay Range: $ 50,000 - $ 80,000 Annually

    The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
