    The API Inspector will perform inspections on pressure vessel, piping, and/or above ground storage tank equipment for the purpose of certifying compliance and/or recommending and approving repairs in accordance with one or more of the following API standards:

    API 570

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES:

    • Perform inspections on piping at scheduled intervals to maintain the mechanical integrity of piping throughout the refinery.

    • Perform visual inspection of completed work and recommend and approve repairs.

    • Assist in the scheduling of activities related to inspection.

    • Use of proper safety procedures and equipment.

    • Properly use and complete customer and company job related forms and paperwork.

    • Abide by Company policies and procedures.

    • Complete all required training, including tests, within Company guidelines.

    • Perform a variety of tasks, often changing assignments on short notice.

    • Prioritize and complete work assignments by specific deadlines.

    • Deliver reports to clients.

    • Work outdoors in a plant atmosphere.

    • Working in plant and/or shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise levels.

    • Wear required safety equipment.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • Possess the related API certification (570) with at least Three years of related experience.

    • Requires high school diploma or equivalent, technical school or college credits preferred.

    • Must be proficient with MS Word and Excel and be able to write detailed inspection reports.

    • Must have the ability to lift and carry 35 pounds.

    • Capable of climbing, working at high elevations and working in confined spaces.

    • Must be able to walk and climb to maneuver within a refinery or plant environment to include the ability to gain access to elevated platforms via ladders and stairwells.

    • Must have sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits employee to communicate effectively;

    • Must have sufficient vision or other powers of observation, with or without reasonable accommodations, which permits employee to conduct investigations.

    • Must have sufficient manual dexterity, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits the employee to perform routine office duties.

    ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Frequent lifting up to 30 lbs.
