    Shingle & Gibb's Applications Engineer (AE) is responsible for providing pre- and post-sales technical support to Customers and Sales Teams. The AE responds to field technical questions, requests for application assistance and trouble-shooting requests. The AE helps provide a better customer experience by effectively selling and promoting products, systems and services that require technical knowledge.

    Work Environment: As a member of the Applications Engineering Department, work is performed both in an office environment and in the field, however, the Applications Engineer Position will work from home most of the time. The Applications Team is required to regularly visit our industrial customers at either a customer site or a warehouse facility to troubleshoot on their behalf or demonstrate viable technical options. Driving is required and the Applications Engineering Team may be exposed to inclement weather conditions. The region this position is responsible for includes PA, NJ, NYC, and parts of DE. Travel to the Moorestown, NJ office location will be as needed.

    Responsibilities:

    • Communicates, promotes and showcases the Shingle & Gibb Core Values, policies and procedures throughout the organization.

    • Responds to customers with manufacturing trouble shooting needs promptly, effectively and professionally.

    • Generates concept solutions for problems with little or no previous or standard solutions.

    • Provides technical services to customers and Sales Team as it relates to the operation and maintenance of equipment.

    • Gathers, analyzes and shares customer feedback and information as it relates to technical problems or solutions.

    • Performs customer analysis to determine essential requirements for specific proposals.

    • Strives to exceed customer expectations and builds strong relationships with current and prospective clients.

    • Develops and maintains solid relationships with suppliers.

    • Assists in the preparation and presentations of technical presentations and demonstrations for our customers and Sales Team.

    • Attends and actively participates in weekly Applications Engineering Team Meetings.

    • Regularly attends supplier trainings and seminars to acquire knowledge of new products and technologies.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field or equivalent experience required.

    • 3 years of Industrial Automation design and implementation experience is required including working with PLCs, HMIs, drives and sensors. Experience with the Siemens platform is strongly preferred.

    • Industrial Sales Experience is a plus.

    • 3 years of Industrial Manufacturing or Operational Exposure is required.

    • Technical knowledge of electrical distribution.

    • Results driven.

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    • Customer/ Client focus.

    • Problem Solving/ Analysis.

    • Technology fluent in Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)

    The expected pay rate for this position is starting at $110,000, depending on experience, plus an annual bonus. You will also receive three weeks of vacation in your first 12 months of employment as well as sick days and holidays.     Physical Demands: The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential job functions:

    • Ability to sit in an office setting for extended periods of time.

    • Ability to sit and drive a vehicle for extended periods of time.

    • Ability to stand for extended periods of time with frequent walking in an environment that may be cold, hot, noisy, and wet and may have odors related to manufacturing.

    • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds independently.

    • Requires use of safety equipment that may include, but not limited to hard hat, vest, goggles, steel toe shoes, and other protective garments and equipment.

    Travel: The Applications Engineer will require limited travel including both inside and outside the local region and to Supplier's sites for training. Overnight travel of at least 40 nights/year should be expected.
