  • We are seeking an Area Manager of Quality & Regulatory Affairs to join our leadership team in Alaska. This critical position ensures compliance to federal, state, and local laws and regulations, while providing strategic direction to facilitate the achievement of company goals and clinical priorities for improved patient outcomes and superior quality standards for our clinics.

    The primary responsibilities of this unique opportunity are:

    Quality

    • Provide strategic leadership of short- and long-term goals using thoughtful techniques in the communication of the company’s mission and core values.
    • Drive high quality performance through development and implementation of strategies to attain goals and objectives related to quality outcomes.
    • Technically proficient in utilizing appropriate dashboards to monitor high-level quality trends. Analyzes complex quality issue using in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives. Evaluates results and initiates/drives improvement activities as needed.
    • Serve as a subject matter expert for clinical quality matters when collaborating with other members of the Team.
    • Identify clinical quality improvement opportunities area to achieve quality program requirements.
    • Provide guidance, interpretation, and subject matter expertise to clinical and operations teams regarding quality related clinical policies and procedures, clinical standards, quality improvement tools and electronic applications.

    Regulatory

    • Identify improvement opportunities to ensure compliance with company standards, policies, and procedures, as well as federal, state, and local regulations by conducting facility audits.
    • Using expertise, make recommendations, provide guidance, and influence through education to re-establish regulatory compliance.
    • Using expertise and independent judgment, work with facilities, and management staff to set and achieve improved regulatory compliance and operational outcomes, identify risk areas and opportunities for improvement, and assist with root cause analysis, if indicated. Monitors, trends, and analyzes audit results, ensures thorough root cause analyses, and recommends process changes as identified.
    • Mentor and assist facilities in identifying effective practices applicable to their needs, in testing for desired results, and the adoption and implementation of these practices.
    • Analyze, manage, and report data to identify improvement opportunities and measure progress of improvement projects.

    Education, Experience & Skills Required:

    • BSN or bachelor’s degree in healthcare related field preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Registered Nurse designation required; ability to license in Alaska.
    • Certification in Nephrology Nursing or quality preferred.
    • Minimum of 3 years dialysis experience required.
    • Minimum of 3 years management experience in a clinical leadership role required.
    • Experience in quality, risk management, case management, or infection control.
    • Ability to analyze and propose alternate solutions, assist in resolving sensitive to complex issues.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with other members of the team, gain support and input while participating in quality improvement activities.
    • Good understanding of the relationship between providers of health care services and regulatory agencies.
    • Strong organizational skills.
    • High level of proficiency with MS Office and EMR systems required.
    • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

    Physical Job Requirements:

    • The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
      1. Day-to-day work includes desk and personal computer work and interaction with facility staff and physicians.
      2. The work environment is characteristic of a health care facility with air temperature control and moderate noise levels.
      3. May be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases/materials.
    • Travel requiring overnight stays to assigned clinics, (Anchorage, Wasilla, Fairbanks, Soldotna, and Juneau)
