Assistant Controller

Description We are looking for an Assistant Controller in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, to join our team. This role is mainly focused on managing financial statements and ensuring the smooth operation of our financial department. As the Assistant Controller, you will work closely with our internal auditors and provide necessary support for external audits.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the closing of accounting books within the set timeframe by entering applicable journal entries and reconciling general ledger accounts.

• Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

• Collaborate with internal auditors and provide necessary assistance for external audits.

• Maintain and update policy documents and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for accountable areas.

• Provide effective training for new employees regarding role requirements.

• Utilize skills in Financial Statement Preparation and Month End Close operations to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. Requirements - Demonstrated proficiency in Financial Statement Preparation

• Familiarity with the Month End Close process

• Previous experience in an Assistant Controller role or similar preferred

• Strong understanding of financial regulations and accounting principles

• Excellent analytical and strategic planning skills

• Proficiency in using financial software and databases

• Excellent communication and leadership abilities

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field

• CPA or other relevant qualification is a plus

• Proactive and independent problem-solving abilities

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

• High level of discretion and confidentiality for sensitive financial information

• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
