  • Eaton's Aerospace division is seeking an Associate Manufacturing Engineer in the Jackson, MI location

    The expected annual salary range for this role is $55125.0 - $80850.0 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

    What you'll do:

    Position Overview:

    Foundational team member responsible for supporting the High-Performance Work team including daily floor support via the following activities. Support fast response calls in a timely fashion, Defective Material Report (DMR) closures, process and operational troubleshooting and support. Responsible for completing Manufacturing Engineering focused tasks including operational goals such as safety, product quality, customer delivery and cost reductions. Support and provide production associates the tools required to perform the job in a manner to meet all requirements.

    Essential Responsibilities:

    • Maintain and improve safe and environmentally responsible manufacturing processes utilizing MESH (Eaton Environmental, Safety and Health process), and other Eaton and industry standard practices.

    • Primary point of contact for shop floor support needs. Charged with responding to shop floor requests and working with the extended team to solve problems in a timely manner. Resolve issue quickly when product stops occur.

    • Communicate daily to extended team members, for issues or problems that require follow up or help needed.

    • Active membership of a High-Performance Work Team (HPWT)/Focus Factory to support on-time delivery of customer orders through the manufacturing process excellence, including troubleshooting machine and tooling problems, supporting the DMR process.

    • Deliver results through the development and execution of standard working procedures.

    • Tooling maintenance including inventory and tooling requisitions using QAD, Legacy drawing maintenance utilizing CATIA including some new tooling creation or modification of existing tools.

    • Create and maintain process routers, equipment PMs and Process documents (SWI's, DBI's) to ensure safety, quality, and cost targets are achieved.

    • Troubleshoot, recommend, and implement changes in products and processes to improve manufacturability and profitability (cost out). Work directly with production associates, from all areas of the plant, in the implementation of projects to build an inclusive culture and processes that meet the needs of all employees and customers.

    Qualifications:

    High School Diploma or GED Equivalent from an Accredited Institution

    Minimum two (2) years of manufacturing or engineering experience

    No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area (50 miles) of the Jackson, MI facility will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation

    Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

    Preferred qualifications

    Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Eng., Industrial Eng., or equivalent 4 year degree in manufacturing/process related fieldEquipment and tooling design experience with detailed understanding of drafting and GD&T practices.

    Familiar with AIAG or equivalent tools for Measurement System Analysis, Capability Analysis, SPC, FMEA, and PPAP.

    Skills

    Limited travel may be required (<20%)

    Ability to read and understand blueprints, specifications, and requirements.

    Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
