  • The Corcoran Department of History seeks to hire a scholar to fill the Jay Berkowitz Chair in Jewish History. In addition to being a member of the history department, the successful candidate will also be expected to be an active participant in UVa's program in Jewish Studies. Applicants must have a distinguished record of publication, teaching, and professional service. Appointment will be at the rank of Associate or Full Professor. The department welcomes applications from scholars working in any geographic region, subject matter, and thematic interest after 1200 CE. The ability to teach the Holocaust is especially welcome. Applicants who work on race, gender, and sexuality are strongly encouraged to apply.

    Minimum Requirements

    Education: Ph.D. or terminal degree.

    Experience: Three years
