    The Biochemistry and Biotechnology Group (B-TEK) within the Bioscience Division is currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic postmaster student who possess a strong interest in host-pathogen biology. We highly encourage candidates with significant expertise in bacterial and mammalian cell culture systems, along with experience or knowledge of common microbiological techniques, to apply for this position.     What You Need

    Minimum Job Requirements:

    • Publication record in reputable scientific journals within the field.

    • Proficiency in fundamental microbiological techniques and methodologies.

    • Excellent communication skills demonstrated through well-crafted reports, published articles, and compelling oral presentations at conferences.

    • Proficiency in working with in-vitro systems, encompassing 2D and 3D cell cultures, to investigate host-microbe/pathogen interactions.

    Education: A master's degree in biology, molecular biology, microbiology, or a related technical field obtained at the time of hire or within the past 3 years, but not yet accepted and enrolled in a graduate program.

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Proficient in cultivating a diverse array of bacterial cultures and intricate microbial communities, with a specialization in conducting virus infection studies.

    • Hands-on experience in employing advanced techniques, including flow cytometry, confocal microscopy, and electron microscopy imaging.

    Work Location: The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.

    Additional Details

    Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2 (~~~) .     No Clearance: Position does not require a security clearance. Selected candidates will be subject to drug testing and other pre-employment background checks.

    *Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.

    New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre-offer.
