  • UPMC Magee-Womens Research Institute (MWRIF) is seeking a Full Time Business Analyst I (Post Award Grant Administrator) to support the Office of Sponsored Awards Management!

    This position will work Monday through Friday, 8am to 4:30pm. This position will be fully remote after training is complete! Hours are subject to change based on business needs .

    This is a position in our central office which handles post-award grant administration duties for the country's largest Women's based research institution. This role performs oversight activities for a portfolio of Federal, non-Federal, Pharmaceutical and foundation sponsored grants and contracts.

    Responsibilities:

    • Identify trends in expenses, utilization, medical quality, and other areas

    • Meet deadlines and turnaround times set by managers and department director

    • Perform statistical analyses, and then be able to explain this analysis to a non-technical audience of both internal and external customers and, at times, senior management

    • Investigate variances and derive solutions to cost increases and quality issues

    • Manage special projects

    • Perform cost/benefit analysis

    • Monitor UPMC operating performance against regional, national and international benchmarks

    • Minimum of bachelor's degree in business, mathematics, statistics, health care, management or a related field required.

    • Minimum of two years experience in financial and/or medical analysis. Experience may include relevant experience in an academic setting required.

    • Experience in health care insurance or health care industry preferred, but those with relevant experience in other industries will be considered.

    o 1+ years experience in post award grants management/research administration preferred.

    • Strong computer skills are a given, with working knowledge in Excel, SQL programming tools, and/or other financial & statistical software packages such as SAS or SPSS
