    Key Responsibilities

    • Assist with and oversee the day-to-day operations of clinical trials and studies.

    • Aid in the collection and processing of biological samples and data.

    • Research visit coordination and conduct.

    • Lead participant recruitment, communication, and scheduling.

    • Perform data entry and quality assurance reviews on study databases.

    • Assist lab manager with regulatory maintenance of assigned clinical trials (IRB and FDA initial submissions, amendments, continuing reviews).

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Entry Level

    • Bachelor's degree in any field.

    • A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.

    Intermediate Level

    • Bachelor's degree in any field.

    • A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.

    • One (1) year clinical research or related experience.

    Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in science or health related field.

    • Two (2) years of clinical research or related experience.

    • Experience with electronic data capture systems (e.g., EMR or EHR and data management systems).

    • Prior experience with regulatory submissions (IRB, FDA).

    • Phlebotomy certification or equivalent.

    • Knowledge and understanding of federal regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).

    • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.

    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.

    The Department of Psychiatry has an available Research Services Professional position in the Division of Addiction Science, Prevention, and Treatment. We are a highly motivated team that conducts transdisciplinary research exploring factors linked with health and cannabis use. This position is well suited for someone pursuing a career or planning an advanced degree in psychology, neuroscience, human subjects research, or biomedical research. We are looking for candidates able to maintain detailed records of studies to ensure compliance with requirements of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), study protocols, department, hospital/clinical standard operating procedures, and other regulatory guidelines. We also need candidates able to maintain study regulatory binders and procure documents, equipment and/or supplies for clinical trials. This position will support research projects in the annabis, ealth, and ddiction ver the lifepan (CHAOS) lab (PI: Kent Hutchison, PhD). Our research is focused on understanding how cannabinoids like CBD and THC influence the endocannabinoid system which in turn influences the immune system and the brain. The CHAOS lab has several current clinical trials investigating the effects of Cannabidiol (CBD) in varying subject populations, which include individuals with Alcohol Use Disorder, Opioid Use Disorder, those at risk for Alzheimer's Disease, and individuals with Traumatic Brain Injuries. Dr. Hutchison also serves as the director of the Rocky Mountain Cannabis Research Center (RM-CRC), a National Institute for Drug Abuse Center for Excellence at the University of Colorado. The mission of the RM-CRC is to accelerate research on the risks and benefits of cannabis and cannabinoids.
