    The Communication Specialist is responsible for planning, initiating, and managing the communications, and marketing activities for the OIT. The focus is on promoting and expanding the reach and impact of OIT, improving external reputation with stakeholders and customers, and improving engagement and accountability. The Communication Specialist manages the overall communications strategy and develops branding and messaging to promote the ACIO and its programs across various media outlets including seminar and conference speaking opportunities, and the entire online realm of OIT websites, blogs, wikis, social networks, and related portals.

    Responsibilities

    • Support executive communications

    • Support the development of executive communications materials

    • Support the development of materials for ACIO town hall and other key IT executive update meetings

    • Support the development of materials for ACIO speaking engagements

    • Support the development of materials for OIT-sponsored forums

    • Support stakeholders/customer communications

    • Support stakeholder outreach efforts through the development of presentations, briefings, and white papers

    • Develop and support OIT stakeholder/customer survey

    • Support the development of web portals and communications mediums

    • Support communications needs for OIT functional areas

    • Communications Strategy Development and Consultation

    • Provide subject matter expertise and guidance for the development of the OIT communications strategy

    • Support the development and refinement of OIT communication strategies

    • Provide recommendations for service improvements, increased customer satisfaction, performance dashboards, and metrics

    • Develop strategic communications processes and documentation

    • Enterprise strategic communications strategy

    • Strategic communications processes and procedures

    • Survey and communications packages and feedback report

    • Town hall and all OIT employee meeting presentations

    • ACIO speaking engagement presentations

    • Broadcast message review and streaming process and procedure

    • Bulletins, monthly tips, and quarterly newsletter review process and procedure

    • OIT intranet and internet content updates, including review process and procedure

    • Long-term communications plan

    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in communications or related area of study OR

    • High school diploma or GED and 4+ additional years of experience or equivalent education and experience

    • 2+ years of experience in communications or related experience

    • Strong computer skills and software proficiency, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and SharePoint)

    • Ability to handle confidential information; strong oral and written communication and presentation skills; ability to interact effectively at all levels; excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to plan, coordinate, and complete objectives; strong customer service skills, ability to manage competing priorities.
