The Controller will be a permanent employment opportunity and will be located in the Salt Lake City, Utah region. This position is for candidates who can plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff. This position is for candidates who can effectively manage self and others within strict time constraints when providing client services, lead while also being a team player, generate innovative ideas, and challenge the status quo.     Responsibilities

    • Responsible for month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis

    • Oversee the activities of the finance department, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

    • Research, plan and implement Finance Department initiatives including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed

    • Assess, execute and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

    • Respond on items beyond formal job responsibilities

    • Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is on time

    • Manage the production of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts

    • Prepare cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and handle daily cash management

    • Each month, present executive committee and partners with financial reports

    • Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure efficient and successful firm-wide operation

    • Inspect deliverables of self and team to ensure that they meet client expectations

    Requirements - BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

    • CPA or MBA preferred

    • Able to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, written, and listening)

    • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

    • The ideal candidate will be highly-skilled with exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills

    • Accounting experience in publicly-traded company a plus

    • Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines

    • Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision

    • Outstanding technology, analytics and management experience required

    • Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment

    • High attention to detail

    • Grant accounting experience preferred

    • Demonstrated knowledge of Cash Flow Analysis

    • Strong familiarity with auditing

    • Comprehensive knowledge of CPA

    • Adeptness in financial statement preparation

    • Internal Control experience highly desired

    • General familiarity with budget forecasting

    • Command of GAAP Accounting
