This position is open to current office hourly employees first. If the position is not filled with a current office hourly employee, it will be open to plant hourly production employees.

COST ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST - MANUFACTURING - DAYS - AUSTIN PLANT

This position, along with eight other accounting specialists, reports to Brady Kiefer, Cost Accountant.

The work schedule for this position is Monday - Friday with occasional overtime required. The daily hours will vary depending on the respective areas being covered. Limited flex time is available. This position is not eligible for a work from home or telecommuting arrangement.

RESPONSIBILITIES: This position is responsible for covering various manufacturing departments in completing accounting production practices, along with analytical support in meeting plant & company initiatives. The person in this position:

• Is responsible for accounting for all inventory and production transactions which occur in the assigned departments.

• Reconciles inventories in QAD compared to the physical inventory quantities from the AS400 data collection system and as reported by management.

• Must have the ability to work at a fast pace, handling multiple departments and their associated accounting activities simultaneously.

• Must be willing to proactively seek information from operations management, shipping, and other functional groups and perform daily tasks.

• Completes weekly reporting / reconciliations for management to evaluate to drive actions / results.

• Performs other duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

• Two-year accounting degree or the equivalent accounting experience

• Demonstrated proficiency with a PC, Windows and MS Excel

• Ability to learn other computer applications.

• Strong verbal communication and time management skills

Preferred

• Experience with QAD, AS/400 Shop Floor Data Collection (SFDC), Oracle Financial, and Mainframe systems.
