    Job Description:

    JOB SUMMARY

    Work Shift: 32 hours per week, 8-hour day shifts, variable days of the week. Hours will fall between 7:00 am and 6:30 pm .

    This position may be eligible for a sign on bonus!

    The CT Technologist performs a variety of technical procedures using ionizing radiation that requires independent judgment, ingenuity, initiative, and requires 6 months to one year of training to produce diagnostic computed tomography (CT) images. The CT Technologist works under the direction of a Radiologist to perform CT procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision for technical detail. The Technologist assumes responsibility for designated areas of procedures and taking corrective action for minor equipment and/or computer malfunctions. Room set up, patient positioning, patient screening, image acquisition and quality control are the direct responsibilities of the Technologist. Must acquire and maintain specialized technical skills and medical knowledge to render quality patient care. Each technologist is responsible for the safety of his/her patients, visitors, and medical staff in the CT area while in his or her care.

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION

    For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.

    Minimum Required: Graduate of a Certificate, Military, or Higher Learning Radiography program.

    Preferred/Optional: Additionally, 6-12 months of CT training.

    EXPERIENCE

    Minimum Required: None

    Preferred/Optional: Two years' experience as a Radiologic Technologist or CT Technologist.

    CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES

    The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.

    Minimum Required: Valid Radiographer licensure in the State of Wisconsin. ARRT Certification in Radiology with eligibility for CT Certification. Must obtain CT certification within two years of employment. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA).

    JOB SUMMARY

    The Radiologic Technologist performs a variety of technical radiography procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiographic diagnosis. The Technologist works under the direction of the radiologist to perform radiographic procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. This individual assumes the responsibilities of designated areas and procedures, and takes corrective action for minor equipment and or computer malfunctions. Room setup, patient positioning, patient screening, knowledge of Computed Radiography (CR) and/or Digital Radiography (DR), quality control, and radiation safety are the direct responsibilities of the Technologist. All Radiologic Technologists equally rotate being on-call after hours on weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
