  • Responsibilities

    Position Summary:

    Opportunity to join the growing CTSI Informatics team to support initiatives to transform and accelerate clinical research. Under general direction and with considerable latitude for the exercise of independent judgment and initiative, the Clinical Research Informatician is responsible for supporting research database which adopts OMOP common data model and contributing to the specification, development, and deployment of research tools and projects. The position plays a pivotal role in ensuring the quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) of the OMOP database and its de-identified version, supporting their rollout and training to the research community. This position works collaboratively with CTSI Informatics team members and other research informaticians.

    Supervision and Direction Received:

    • Reports to the CTSI Informatics Lead Informatician. Expected to work in a collegial manner with all faculty, staff, and students, and independently manage priorities and deadlines.

    Responsibilities:

    • Regularly audit and review the OMOP databases to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity. Implement and maintain QA/QC protocols to ensure the highest data standards.

    • Support the rollout of the OMOP databases to the research community. Provide training and support to researchers on how to effectively utilize the OMOP databases for their projects. Gather feedback from users to continuously improve and enhance the database's features and functionalities

    • Evaluate, adopt, deploy, and administer tools to analyze and report data quality and completeness in OMOP databases

    • Work closely with other clinical research informaticians and programmer analysts to support the operation of CTSI informatics service line.

    Other projects and job duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, public health or a related field.

    • 3 years of data analysis or customer resource management systems experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    • Minimum of 3 years of programming experience with SQL in Microsoft SQL Server, preferably in a research or healthcare setting. Experience and knowledge with programming language (Python or R) is a plus.

    • Familiarity with OMOP common data model and medical vocabularies (ICD, CPT4, LOINC, SNOMED, etc.) are highly valuable.

    • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

    • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

    Pay Range

    Pay Range: $58,800 - $82,300 Annually

    The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
