    Job Title: Data Entry Specialist

    Department: Med Outpatient HUP City Contract

    Location: Perelman Center for Advanced Medicine-3400 Civic Center Blvd

    Hours: Full Time

    Summary

    • The Data Entry Specialist for the Ryan White program will be responsible for managing and maintaining the accuracy of the database used for various grants related to HIV within the MacGregor Infection Medicine and Travel Program practice, as well as Penn Community Practice. The Data Entry Specialist will enhance the overall effectiveness of the data gathering and health outcome reporting processes.

    Responsibilities

    • Extract visit data (service dates, lab results, medication, etc) from EPIC into CAREWare (database for our HIV individuals)

    • Review provider notes for specific measures. Communicate with providers if data element is missing

    • Inform support services of missing data elements

    • Review performance measure reports for missing data and correct when needed

    • Update annual data

    • Add new patients and needed data into database

    • Enters all data into CAREWare in a timely manner

    • Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures

    • Other duties as assigned to support the unit, department, entity, and health system organization

    Credentials

    Education or Equivalent Experience

    • H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)

    • And 3+ years health Sciences, Health Administration, Health Information & Technology, or related field

    • Bachelor of Arts or Science (Preferred)

    • Education Specialization: Health Sciences, Health Administration, Health Information & Technology, or related field
