    Currently, we are seeking a motivated, career and team-oriented cybersecurity data engineer in support of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) Continuous Diagnostic & Mitigation (CDM) Data Services Program. The CDM Data Services Program is a critical component of CISA's national effort to ensure the defense and resilience of cyberspace.

    The CDM Data Services Program mission is to provide a standardized platform to collect, transform, and integrate cybersecurity data from relevant authoritative data sources into a coherent data, delivering actionable information into Agency and Federal Dashboards to identify risk areas in support of mitigation as well as to facilitate coordinated agency and national response to cyber-threats.

    This is a remote position where the candidate can work from any location within the United States provided, they are able to work on an eastern time zone schedule.

    We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Ingest Developer with expertise in API development, cyber tools' API calls, and working with Data Pipeline tool. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining efficient and scalable data ingestion processes and pipelines. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of various data sources into our organization's data ecosystem.

    Responsibilities:

    • Design, develop, and enhance data ingestion processes using APIs and other data ingestion methods.

    • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and understand data sources to ensure accurate and efficient data capture.

    • Develop and maintain API integrations with external systems, tools, and platforms related to cyber tools and security technologies.

    • Implement data transformation and enrichment techniques to ensure data quality and integrity throughout the ingestion process.

    • Monitor and troubleshoot data ingestion pipelines, resolving issues and ensuring optimal performance.

    • Collaborate with data engineering, security, and operations teams to ensure secure and compliant data ingestion practices.

    • Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies related to data ingestion, APIs, cyber tools.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.

    • Minimum 4 years of experience as a Data Ingest Developer or API Developer, with a strong emphasis on data integration.

    • Expertise in developing APIs and working with various API frameworks.

    • Deep understanding and experience with cyber tools API calls and integrating data from security technologies.

    • Proficiency in working with Confluent, Apache Storm, NiFi, or similar data routing and processing platforms.

    • Proficient in YAML, Python and other scripting languagues.

    • Strong knowledge of data ingestion methods, techniques, and best practices.

    • Familiarity with data transformation and enrichment using technologies such as ETL, scripting, or data manipulation languages.

    • Experience in troubleshooting and resolving data ingestion issues, ensuring high reliability and performance.

    • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.

    Security/Clearance Requirements:

    • Must be a US citizen and pass a background investigation.

    • Able to obtain and maintain a DHS Suitability/Entry on Duty (EOD)

    Physical Requirements:

    • Must be able to be in a stationary position more than 50% of the time

    • Must be able to communicate, converse, and exchange information with peers and senior personnel

    • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a computer

    • The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations

    • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
