    Reporting to the VP Safety & Sustainability, the Director, Corporate Sustainability oversees UL Solution's sustainability strategy and related activities. Working closely with other departments, you will develop and lead the strategy to drive the organization's global sustainability program.

    This includes the creation of relevant goals, policies and programs that align with and support the strategic and operational goals of UL Solutions. You will also be responsible for reviewing and reporting on the impact of the organization's ESG programs and related activities.

    You will be expected to act as a champion across the entire sustainability landscape, expanding and elevating the Company's understanding of and commitment to the organization's environmental, economic, and social responsibility initiatives. This is a cross-functional role that will collaborate with UL Solution's senior leadership team through vision-setting, strategy development, implementation, and reporting.

    • Lead Strategy and Performance - Working closely with key internal executives to further develop UL Solutions' long-term sustainability strategy. This includes evaluating and overseeing public commitments to relevant standards and developing and implementing ESG related goals. This also includes working across a diverse group of partners (HR, Legal, Finance and Operations) to support programs and priorities around material ESG issues, as well as owning the development, evaluation, preparation, and execution.

    • Measurement, Evaluation and Reporting - Lead data analysis, review benchmarks and gather insights from evolving sustainability standards to evaluate UL Solutions' ESG performance. Ensure SOX compliant reporting and oversee reporting and tracking for ESG metrics across the organization. Responsible for production of annual sustainability report.

    • Coordinates external corporate reporting efforts, such as the GRI (Global Reporting Initiative), SEC climate change reporting requirements, CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive), Ecovadis, CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project), IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards and the response to ratings and rankings requests, questionnaires, surveys and other filings as needed.

    • Lead ESG cross functional groups; develop annual cadence for reporting and disclosures; effectively develop teams of outside partners, consultants and vendors toward outcomes and results.

    • Collaborate with business unit and corporate department leadership to determine the overall information sharing of UL Solution's ESG efforts; represent UL Solutions externally with relevant industry partners and internally to senior leaders.

    • Ensures UL Solutions' sustainability program is kept current for all regulations, market trends, as well as customers' expectations.

    • Manages the performance of direct reports by developing accountabilities, establishing performance objectives, providing career counseling, feedback and guidance, and ensuring that all policies are understood and adhered to.

    • Leads UL Solutions' Sustainability Council and related task forces, including Social Sustainability, Environmental Sustainability, Governance, and Operations.

    • Follow the UL Solutions' corporate policies, including its Code of Conduct and physical and digital security practices.

    • Performs other duties as directed.

    • University degree (equivalent to Bachelor's degree) in sustainability, business or a related discipline, plus seven years or more of corporate experience in ESG, environmental sustainability, corporate social responsibility.

    • Expert knowledge on corporate sustainability, climate change, ESG topics and current trends.

    • Proven ownership over the creation of ESG or sustainability reports and/or proven ability to evaluate corporate performance using such reports.

    • Excellent influencing and cross-functional partnership skills; ability to bring people together around a common goal.

    • Expertise in data analysis and building thoughtful and efficient cross-functional processes.

    • Strong written and presentation skills for high-visibility storytelling, both internally and externally.

    • Adept at synthesizing sophisticated inputs from multiple collaborators.

    • Public company experience is essential.
