  • The Director of Tax Compliance and Reporting will manage Copeland's global preparation and review of all U.S. and non-U.S. corporate income tax returns, as well as U.S. partnership returns, along with quarterly and annual provisions for income taxes, estimated tax payments, and extension calculations. This role will work with outside advisors, and be supported by a team in the United States.

    The position reports to the Vice President of Tax and will supervise staff members and external service providers.

    AS THE DIRECTOR- TAX COMPLIANCE & REPORTING YOU WILL:

    • Oversee and ensure timely and accurate preparation, review, and filing of all applicable federal, state, local and international tax returns

    • Manage all aspects of the preparation of quarterly and annual income tax process under ASC740, including FIN 48 and valuation allowance analyses and footnote disclosure

    • Handle estimated income tax payments and annual extensions

    • Manage cash taxes and tax forecasting process

    • Maintain effective control procedures over all aspects of the tax compliance and provision processes

    • Review statutory filings in non-US jurisdictions to ensure appropriate reporting and treatment for local tax purposes

    • Monitor tax legislative changes; assess and communicate impact of changes

    • Manage outside advisors, primarily in connection with ongoing compliance

    • Support tax planning, transfer pricing, audits and other tax projects; research federal and state tax issues as needed

    • Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and other efficiencies

    • Manage, mentor, and develop staff

    • This role is open to remote work anywhere in the US

    Required Education, Skills and Experience:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Tax

    • 10+ years experience in a U.S. corporate income tax role

    • Strong and in-depth tax technical and US GAAP (ASC 740) knowledge

    • Experience managing large, complex income tax provisions and external auditors

    • Experience managing global tax compliance.

    • Strong Excel skills, experience with Onesource

    • Strong communication skills, including to non-tax functions and businesses

    • Legal authorization to work in the United States- Sponsorship will not be provided for this position

    Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

    • CPA and/or Masters in Tax

    • Proficiency in partnership taxation

In accordance with Colorado EPEWA, the base salary range for this role is $175,000 - $230,000 annually, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to a role.
