    The Opportunity

    The Electrical Engineer Supervisor will work in asenior-level engineer capacity performing all aspects of conventional design engineering and analysis. This professional will work in areas of energy such as hydrogen,ammonia & fertilizer, petroleum refining, gas processing, petrochemical, chemical,LNG and FLNG.

    In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

    • Functionas a lead technical design engineer, under the direction and support of a Senior Engineer

    • Leadprojects and teams

    • Develop electrical drawing deliverables including single line diagrams, schematics, interconnection diagrams, equipment layouts

    • Interface with clients, vendors and subcontractors

    • QA/QC project work and mentor junior engineers

    • Explore various technologies within the process space to expand your skillset and knowledge

Although project experience ingas, fuels and chemicals (GFC)is preferred - we are interested and excited to consider candidates with any Power Generation Facility design experience (i.e. LV/MV - Power Plants, Nuclear Plants, Hydrogen Facilities, etc.).

    Please note: This role will be hybrid: 2 days per week remote, 3 days per week in-office out of any Black and Veatch office in either Oklahoma, Texas, or our headquarters in Overland Park, KS. We are open to assisting with relocation if you are open to moving to one of our Texas office locations or our headquarters, Overland Park Kansas.

    The Team

    Black & Veatch's Oil, Gas & Chemical Electrical Engineering team provides services from consulting, design, full engineering, procurement & construction (EPC), and commissioning & start-up for LNG facilities, Floating LNG facilities, gas processing & NGL fractionation, gasification & gas to liquids, hydrogen, and ammonia & fertilizers.

    Our knowledge, capabilities, and innovation include our proprietary PRICO® technologies. This enables our team to assess and choose tailored solutions with greater quality and efficiency for our clients. The value chain spans natural gas, natural gas liquids, midstream, wholesale markets, power generation, and utility segments.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Preparea variety of moderately complex engineering calculations and deliverablesfollowing standard methods and principles.

    • Performcomplex research and developrecommendations for equipment and/or materials selection.

    • Understandand adhereto budget, schedule, and quality requirements.

    • Initiatecontact with other disciplines as needed to identify and coordinate details of work.

    • Actively seekto understand and apply client interests and drivers through normal client contact and through interaction and communication with project leadership.

    • May provide direction, guidance, and mentoring to others.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • PE Certification.

    • Experience as an electrical engineer in the process, oil &gas, new energy, ammonia & fertilizer, LNG, floating LNG, or hydrogen generation spaces.

    • Working knowledge of the NEC (NFPA 70 National Electrical Code).

    • Experience with at least 3of the following:

    • Hazardous Area Classifications as defined by the NEC

    • ETAP or SKM Electrical system analysis modeling software.

    • Industrial power distribution system designs including MV and LV switchgear, MCC's, VFD's, power distribution transformers, batteries and UPS

    • Protective relay settings and equipment sizing calculations associated with power distribution equipment

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing

    • Minimum of 11 years related work experience

    • All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
