    Electronics Engineer

    Location: Greenville, Michigan

    Reports to: Group Director of Engineering for Marvel/U-Line/Viking

    Expected Hours of Work:

    This position is full-time. The general scheduled workdays are Monday through Friday, plus overtime when required. This role will be expected to travel once a month to our plants, in Wisconsin and Mississippi.

    Position Overview:

    This position is responsible for the technical leadership of electronic controls and electronic subsystems development including the direction, planning, coordination, and implementation of designs related to electronic controls and electronic subsystems across multiple appliance divisions and platforms. Responsible for the development, implementation and completion of test programs and plans as driven from the ctq flow down process. The position is responsible for performing tests for new product designs, new features, quality improvements and cost reductions. This position will encompass working with all of our brands Marvel/U-Line/Viking refrigeration.

    Responsibilities:

    • Development of specifications for electronic controls and electronic subsystems with respect to the following: product level requirements and specifications, agency requirements, and Marketing and Industrial Design requirements
    • Project management for electronic components and subsystems from concept through production; manage outside electronic controls and component suppliers
    • Test plan development for electronic components and sub-systems (both software and hardware)
    • Responsible for verification, validation and approval testing for electronic components and sub-systems
    • Support specification and development of production line test equipment related to the electronics design
    • Development and/or use of diagnostic tools and fixtures to support design, evaluation, and troubleshooting
    • Development and implementation of control algorithms for appliances
    • Use of statistical design and evaluation concepts to ensure robust designs
    • Continuous improvement for existing designs
    • Engineering technical support to industrial design for: User interface design (usability) and concept Feasibility (technical, cost, schedule)
    • Engineering technical support to Procurement for: supplier evaluation and quoting of electronic components
    • Engineering technical support to Service for: resolution of field issues, development and implementation of field diagnostics, support development of service documentation
    • Advanced technology research and evaluation
    • Competitive product analysis & testing
    • This role will be expected to travel once a month to our plants, in Wisconsin and Mississippi

    Requirements:

    Qualifications:

    • BSEE and 5+ years of electronic development experience
    • Ability to establish priorities, manage multiple complex programs/projects, and rapidly adapt/respond to changes in environment and priorities; Project management experience
    • Advanced organizational, problem solving, and analysis skills
    • Ability to work cooperatively with others in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
    • Ability to maintain a sense of urgency, initiative, and commitment to work assignments
    • Strong attention to detail; Shows strong creativity and innovation
    • Broad experience in appliance design/development; preferred
    • Experience with statistical design concepts; preferred
    • Programming and hardware design experience; preferred

    Working Conditions:

    • Office based and Engineering Lab
    • 25% Travel
    • Travel once a month.
    • 8-hour shifts
    • Monday- Friday
