    Position Overview:

    Works interdependently with physician's oversight in the technical management of implanted cardiac pacemaker and implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) devices. Provides quality care to patients undergoing invasive Electrophysiology (EP) procedures and related surgical procedures and to assist the electrophysiologist during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Manages device patients and their care and implements treatment plans at a highly developed skill level in collaboration with physicians and other members of the health care team. Able to perform adjustments to programming per order, and is able to troubleshoot basic, intermediate and advanced device issues. Participates in on-going technical training on advanced mapping techniques and may train and orient newly hired EP personnel to master non-nursing technical skills of EP.

    EDUCATION

    • Associate's: physical sciences or healthcare related sciences or equivalent education/experience

    CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:

    • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider

    • ACLS-Advanced Cardiac Life Support

    • Pediatrics, PALS-Pediatric Advanced Life Support

    TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

    • 8 years recent relevant experience

    SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

    • Thorough knowledge and practice in 3D mapping, bloom stimulator, stereotaxis and intracardiac echo.

    • Proficiency in programmed electrical stimulation and pacing protocols.

    • Proficiency in pacemaker and defibrillator interrogation and programming.

    • Knowledge of intra-cardiac echo, advanced knowledge and experience in pacing and cardiac rhythm management devices.

    • Job requires proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; attention to detail and ability to write legibly.

    Pay Range is $57.53 to $71.91 / hour

    The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate's experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
