4D Tech Solutions, a Cognosante company, is seeking an Embedded Systems/Test Engineer with 3 years' experience in systems engineering, test engineering, software engineering, electrical engineering, or related disciplines, to participate on a multidisciplinary product development team. 4D is seeking individuals interested in the design, development and commercialization of LiDAR systems for unmanned vehicle. The ideal candidate will have a broad range of skills and experience including embedded systems development, embedded system test and evaluation, and technical writing and project reporting. Interested candidates must be able to adapt to the current projects needs and must be able to fill multiple engineering roles.

Key Responsibilities

• Development and testing of LiDAR sensor/system.

• Development and testing of embedded system components.

• Analysis and manipulation of LIDAR data/point clouds.

• Customer support of existing and future LiDAR customers.

Required Qualifications

• US Citizen able to obtain and hold a Secret DoD Clearance.

• B.S. or higher in systems engineering, mathematics, software engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering or a similar degree.

• Experience in the development and testing of embedded systems.

• Must be able to work onsite at 4D Tech Solutions, 401 10th Street, Fairmont WV 26554.

Candidates that do not meet the required qualifications will not be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience integrating, testing, and troubleshooting embedded systems.

• Excellent writing and communications skills.

• Familiarity operating and/or developing LiDAR systems (DoD experience a plus).

• Previous experience testing and operating lasers; familiar with laser optics.

• Experience with manipulating and analyzing LiDAR data/point clouds (CloudCompare or similar software package).

• Understanding of basic GIS/surveying concepts such as control points, coordinate systems, and digital elevation models.

• Familiarity with point-cloud manipulation in GIS software packages (ArcGIS or similar software package).

• Experience operating drones/Part 107 drone pilot (past LiDAR operations experience a plus).

• Basic knowledge of software development and experience with scripting languages (Python/Bash experience a plus).

• Able to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot basic electrical issues.

Compensation

$68,655.08 - $109,846.12

The pay range for this job is determined by various factors, including but not necessarily limited to location, responsibilities of the job, and alignment with market data. When determining a salary for this role, the following factors may be taken into consideration - contract-specific affordability, education, knowledge, skills, competencies and experience.
