  • Position Summary

    The Electrical Designer will be responsible for raceway design, equipment location and layout, C&R schedule inputting and updating using Set route, conduit, and raceway design. Responsible to produce lower and higher tier drawings and documentation in accordance with established conceptual design and scope, modelling, including cable pull calculations, design of lighting using AGi32, grounding layout, grounding designs/calculations and lightning protection systems. Develops specifications for equipment and material where deviation from standard documentation is required.

    Responsibilities

    • Electrical Physical Design (and circuit and raceway).

    • Responsible for raceway design, equipment location and layout, C&R schedule inputting and updating, conduit and aboveground raceway design.

    • Responsible to produce drawings and documentation in accordance with established design and scope including design of lighting, communications, grounding layout, grounding designs/calculations, and lightning protection systems.

    • Must have proven 2D and 3D CADD skills.Must have experience with an electronic Cable Management System, such as the SETROUTE program, and be able to input and complete corrections to the database.

    • Responsibilities also include ensuring that the electrical systems designs comply with all applicable installation codes, regulations, and standards. May interface with Construction and Subcontractors.

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Grade 23: AA/AS degree with 3 years of related design experience; or in lieu of degree, high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 7 years of related design experience.

    • Grade 24: AA/AS degree with 5 years of related design experience; or in lieu of degree, a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 9 years of related design experience.

    • Must be authorized to live and work in the US without sponsorship.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Prior experience working in a Nuclear, Quality, and Safety Environment.

    • Experience in nuclear plant design (power plant or DOE facility).

    • Experience in working with procedures meeting quality assurance programs such as ASME-NQA-1, MIL-Q-9858A, or ISO-9000.

    • Knowledge of industry and regulatory guides, codes, and standards.

    • Previous hands-on or extensive working knowledge industry-wide design tools, such as CAD 2D/3D, cable designing and routing software.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Hands-on experience with SETROUTE program, and be able to input and complete corrections in the database.

    • Familiar with all Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs) and their application to projects.

    • Experience with Revit design tools.

    • Experience with SmartPlant 3D design tools.

    • Experience with AP1000 Nuclear Power Plant Design.
