    JOB SUMMARY:

    Engineers Analysts are responsible for developing, designing, and analyzing propeller blade aerodynamics, performance, and structure. Combined with testing and certification of propellers and components to help field the best propeller solutions in the industry. This will include writing test plans and reports required for development and certification of new propellers to 14CFR35 standards. This role will operate in one or more functional disciplines within engineering including design, aero, structures, harmonics, and fatigue. Duties will be in support of new product and sustaining designs, including coordination with other Engineering and technical groups.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Responsible for completing development, design, testing and certification assignments for new propeller designs or modifications.Develops creative, scientific alternatives during course of job assignments to reach desired outcome.

    • Involved in initial design of propeller using blade element design code.Analyzing changes to diameter, chord, thickness, camber, and twist. Create propeller map data for potential customers along with static thrust estimates. Perform modal analysis during initial blade design phase.

    • Define locations of peak stress for measurements on vibe survey for Part 23.907 testing. Author vibration survey test plan, conduct test as analyst, reduce vibe data, and create final vibe report. Perform stress analysis with appropriate software for various propeller components. Perform and monitor structural tests of blade components such as hub, blade, etc.

    • Conducts research, calculations, estimates and drafting of projects to conform with established specifications such as capacities, styling, performance and determine status of work in progress.Performs above work utilizing frequent application of in-depth engineering principles.

    • Maintain a high degree of proficiency in computer applications to accomplish tasks.

    • Consults and coordinates with other engineering and manufacturing personnel to coordinate design function and resolve technical problems.Consults with supplier to discuss and remedy issues in a more timely and efficient manner.

    • Requests and coordinates work performed by Engineering support groups, Experimental, Manufacturing and Supply Chain Management for the project.Instructs suppliers as to materials, equipment, and hardware for utilization on aircraft in accordance with approved specifications.

    • Maintains contact with Product Support Engineering and production departments to resolve engineering problems impeding production and to assist in the incorporation of new design concepts and changes.

    • Reviews and evaluates supplier proposals for potential utilization on future models.

    • Provides guidance to Engineers in the solution of specific, complex design problems, which must be resolved during development and testing.

    • Assures supervision awareness of program status, problems and successes.Provides periodic design reviews and update presentations to management of engineering and other company organizations.

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or other related technical field.

    • Minimum of 5 years of relative experience required.

    • Time management skills to support multiple concurrent projects

    • Understanding of 2D & 3D design concepts

    • Working knowledge of generic CAD design tool processes

    • Ability to read and produce 2D drawings using standard industry practices

    • Proficient in use of standard Microsoft Office programs

    • Coding experience in Basic, Fortran, or other applicable computer language

    • Experience in CATIA V5 or V6 is preferred
