As an Electrical Design Engineer in the Systems Integration Group (SIG) at Micron Technology, we define, design, and implement system requirements for semiconductor test equipment. We prepare studies and analyze existing semiconductor device test systems. As an electrical engineer you will apply circuit theory to solve sophisticated problems on PCB assemblies and at the system level. You will work closely in multidisciplinary design teams collaborating with software and mechanical engineers, purchasing, planning, and contract manufacturers. These teams can be geographically diverse and located around the world. Daily activities can include the following.

Responsibilities and Tasks

• Analog circuit design

• FPGA design with Verilog and System Verilog

• Schematic entry

• Work closely with PCB designers to design PCBs

• Debug and verification of PCB assemblies

• Authoring requirements specifications, design documentation, test plans, and lab reports

• Python scripting and data analysis

• Use lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, TDR, DMM, power supplies, etc.

• Circuit simulation

Product Development Responsibilities

• Assesses current and future technology requirements in order toidentify strategic opportunities for design and process improvements within Micron

• Performs decision analysis and feasibility studies on proposed projects and tasks

• Define design requirements for tasks and projects that consider end user needs, statutory requirements, and the business needs

• Assess workload and resources required to implement a design and work with a diversely skilled team to plan for and complete projects

• Perform design and development work to meet project or task requirements

• Help define manufacturing and engineering support solutions

• Plan, build, and refine prototype designs including test and verification

• Document and control designs

• Support prototype qualification by the customer including deployment, design changes, and issue resolution

• Manage engineering changes using version control processes

• Support released designs for issues or additional design and development requests
