Environmental Health Safety Specialist

Experis, a division of ManpowerGroup, is working with a global medical device manufacturer . Looking for a Environmental, Health, & Safety Specialist to work onsite in their facility, in Grand Rapids, MI . This is a 24-Month Contract with possibility of extension and/or conversion to FTE/Perm.

Job Title: Environmental, Health, & Safety Specialist

Location: Grand Rapids, MI

Pay: $30-$33 an hour + benefits

Schedule: Mon-Fri, Fully Onsite, Normal Business Hours (some flex on hours)

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, administer, and implement environmental, health, & safety (EHS) program for newly acquired manufacturing plant

• Make adjustments and recommend enhancements in EHS matters, ensuring OSHA, EPA, State, and Local regulatory compliance

• 50% Desk Work (developing policies, procedures, training initiatives, audits, and compliance programs)

• 50% Walking the plant, engaging with all levels personnel, educating, auditing, and compliance testing

Requirements:

• Degree + minimum of 1 year relevant experience OR Advanced Degree + 0 years of experience

• Regulatory knowledge of OSHA general industry standard 1910 and EPA RCRA

• Experience in development EHS Programs and delivering training

• Experience in conducting root cause analysis and risk assessments

Preferred Certifications, Not Required:

• Certified Safety Professional-CSP

• Certified Hazardous Material Management-CHMM

• Resource Conservation and Recovery Act Certification (RCRA)

• OSHA, 20-30-Hour training

• OSHA Hazwoper
