Growing company in Kansas City is seeking a Field Service Technician to add to their team. The ideal candidate will have experience doing troubleshooting and repair of automated and mechanical systems in a manufacturing environment. Associates degree is preferred but will consider candidates with experience in lieu of degree. The technician will Act as a technical generalist in a variety of disciplines including but not limited to mechanical, piping, instrumentation and electrical, and be open to 50% travel. PLC troubleshooting capabilities required.

All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.

responsibilities

• Serves existing accounts by analyzing work orders; planning daily travel schedule; investigating complaints; conducting tests; resolving problems.

• Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.

• Establishes service by studying system requirements; ordering and gathering components and parts; completing installation; and performing factory acceptance tests.

• Maintains rapport with customers by examining complaints; identifying solutions; suggesting improved methods and techniques; recommending system improvements.

• Documents service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.

• Provides site installation and site start-up support.

• Travels to customer manufacturing sites to do commissioning, troubleshooting and repair of systems

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in a service role; previous field service experience preferred

• Ability to perform PLC troubleshooting and repair of electromechanical systems

• Willingness to travel about 50%, about 2 weeks per month
