Sodexo Campus Dining is seeking a hands-on Food Operations Manager 1 to join our dining services team at Paul Smith's College which is located in Paul Smiths, NY . Paul Smith's College is a smaller dining services account with approximately 500 student boarders, with offerings that include: Resident Dining, Retail, Conferencing & Catering Services. Reporting to the General Manager, the Food Operations Manager will assist in the oversight of a dedicated and talented team of employees within the dining operation. This position will lead the management food team with a strong focus on service, standards, training, systems, programs and client excellence. We are seeking a well-rounded food operations manager with experience that includes front and back of the house food operations, as well as catering services.

The successful candidate will:

• have oversight of day-to-day front of house operations (multiple dining rooms, catering and a bistro);

• have a passion for food and promotes and mentors guest service excellence cross departmentally through the people we serve;

• achieve company and client financial targets and goals;

• develop and maintain client and customer relationships;

• develop strategic plans;

• create a positive environment; and

• ensure Sodexo Standards are met.

• can demonstrate the ability to prioritize tasks and exhibit flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed; and

• can demonstrate working knowledge of Sodexo Food Management Systems and is proficient in computer skills and report management experience.

While the budgeted range for the position is posted, Sodexo salary offers are based on a candidate's specific criteria, like experience, skills, education and training.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degreeor equivalent experience

Basic Management Experience - 2 years

Basic Functional Experience - 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
