Join our company and be part of an innovative team that's First in Food. Location Description Michael Foods, Inc. located in Yuma, Arizona nestled between Phoenix and San Diego. Yuma features extraordinary outdoor activities from tubing on the Colorado River to off-roading at the Buttercup Sand Dunes. Our location produces hard boiled eggs for a vast number of both retail and food service customers. Responsibilities POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for maintaining food safety and quality related manuals and documents ensuring quality, sanitation, and production records are legible, accurate, complete, maintained, and easily retrievable for customer and quality audits. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensure quality, sanitation, and production records are legible, accurate, complete, maintained, and easily retrievable. Update and maintain facility batch and quality related records. Assist in the drafting, revision, and maintenance of plant standard operating procedures(SOP). Assist in the tracking of Production Specification Change Requests. Participate in plant food safety/quality inspections, in-process inspections, mock recalls, label audits, Food Safety audits, and thermometer / pH meter calibrations as required. Maintain quality related manuals and records (i.e. SQF training, batch records, pest control documentation, customer specific files, etc.), ICP, HACCP/Preventive control documents. Assist in investigations in response to customer concerns or other quality related deviations to determine root cause and appropriate corrective actions. Assist in the management of quality hold activities, including non-conforming product inventories. Expected to adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP and HACCP guidelines, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained in order to maintain SQF Quality Certification. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety. Prepares and conducts GMP, Food Safety and Preventive Control training for all personnel during onboarding and on an annual basis; maintains training matrix. Assist in the job responsibilities of the QA supervisor. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals in English. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and in group situations in English. Ability to respond to questions from internal/external customers/vendors at all levels including management in English. PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: One-year certificate from college or technical school or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations in English. Proficient communication skills. Knowledge of company and regulatory policies, procedures, and philosophies. Up-to-date knowledge of State and Federal food safety regulations, relevant legislation, HACCP, SQF,GMPs and Preventive Control programs (PCQI). Proficient organizational and time management skills. Basic proficiency using computer programs for collecting and analyzing data and writing procedures and reports. Basic proficiency using statistical and quality related problem-solving tools. Demonstrated proficiency in critical thinking and problem-solving. Ability to participate in cross-functional teams. Data collection, analysis, and reporting. Basic administrative duties. Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred. Ability to type or take shorthand and speed required.
