General Laborer

Description:

They assemble door handles both inside and out, and liftgate handles. 1st shift Pay Rate is $15.94/hr and 2nd and 3rd Shift is $16.70/hr. The shift times vary depending on department and location. The parts are all plastic and very light, but will increase with quantity. They will be working 8-10 hour shifts, and will be on their feet the whole time. Assembly cells are made up of 8 areas, and the operators rotate between them. They usually don't spend more than two hours in one spot. Occasionally they will stay put for a whole shift. They will place the parts in the correct fixture, and in the right order. They will start out on the easier stations, and work their way around.

Assembly- placing several small hardware pieces and plastic parts into a fixture, setting up for the machine to assemble the part. Packing, inspection and labeling. Very repetitive. Operators must assemble a certain number of parts per hour, so there is a speed factor. Will rotate every 2 hours to a different station.

Molding- packing raw plastic parts into totes, sorting, inspection, assembly, and trimming excess plastic from fresh molded parts. Still very clean and light work.

Paint- packing, hanging parts before paint application, inspecting after painted and dry, looking for defects. VERY CLEAN. Not dealing with any wet paint or doing any physical painting. Parts are painted in a different section of the plant.

1st shift- 6:30am-3pm (4:30am with Overtime)

2nd Shift 3pm-11:30pm (1:30pm with Overtime)
