Position Summary
The Grant Writer will identify, define, and develop federal funding sources to support existing and planned program activities as well as lead the development, writing, and submission of grant proposals to federal and state, and certain private funding agencies such as HUD, HHS, CJCC, DOJ, etc. This position requires strong written communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet non-negotiable deadlines in a team-based environment. Successful applicants will have served as lead writer on multiple funded federal grants.
Primary responsibilities include the preparation of proposals and grant applications, and the performance of responsible professional and administrative work in researching, identifying, developing, and responding to federal and state grant opportunities in areas that support AVLF programs.
The position is also responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reporting data on the performance of program activities funded by federal, state, and private funding agencies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree required;
5 to 7 years of experience as a successful federal grant writer;
Previous grant budget development and management;
A proven record of securing federal grants with certifiable references;
Knowledge of the federal grant application process, scoring criteria, and funding cycles;
Previous federal grant application, submission, approval, and management of funds.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
Master’s in Business Administration degree preferred;
Federal Grant writing experience,
Experience should demonstrate a proven track record of securing federal funding opportunities;
comprehensive knowledge of research, and the ability to distinguish and identify opportunities for AVLF programs.
Ability to work effectively under pressure;
Excellent writing and verbal skills;
Be highly organized with the ability to implement systems and follow-up processes;
Proficiency in research, interpreting, and analyzing diverse data;
Proficient with Microsoft Office Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel. Salesforce and database management skills preferred
Motivated self-starter with the ability to work collaboratively and independently with purpose and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation details: 57500-65000 Yearly Salary
